Parson Russell Terrier

This dog is a breed of the small white terrier of the original Fox Terriers during the eighteenth century. The breed gets its name after the individual who was credited with the development of this dog. Mostly, he is white with a rough, or smooth or broken coat. He is feisty and energetic.

In the middle of the nineteenth century, this dog descended from dog by the name Trump. The owner of this dog was passionate and enthusiastic about hunting. He decided to come up with terriers that could chase and dispatch foxes and at the same time match the speed of horses. He developed a very successful breed and he ultimately gave the breed his name. The most notable thing is that Russell did not display or show off this breed in shows.

The Parson Russell Terrier has an average lifespan of between 13-15 years. Occasionally, he may suffer from compulsive behavior, deafness, ataxia, glaucoma, and legg-perthes disease. Some of the minor health concerns that trouble this breed include patellar luxation and lens luxation. It is very important that these issues be identified early enough. For this reason, it is more than important to consult a veterinarian. He or she can recommend knee and eye tests for this dog.

His coat is smooth and broken. It is naturally harsh, dense and close, straight without any suggestion of kink. This dog is best known for his great natural appearance. He is not excessively groomed. In terms of color, the dog comes in a variety of colors. His colors are very clear. This Terrier is predominantly white. Make sure you do not fault his moderate body markings.
