Cesky Terrier

The Cesky Terrier is a moderate long and short-legged dog. He brings with it a wedge shaped head with bushy beard, eyebrows and mustache. His nose bridge is straight and normally with a little stop. Czechoslovakian breeder by the name Frantisek Horak was this dog’s original developer. He was very successful at getting the dog recognized by FCI in the year 1963. The main goal of this man was to breed dogs that are narrow for purposed of getting down easily into burrows and dens in the hunt for fox and rats. By the year 1980, most breeders have a feeling that the dog lacked the looks of Mr. Horak’s breeds.

Therefore, they crossed them again using the Sealyham Terriers. In the USA, this breed was first imported in the year 1987. To this very day, the breed is quite rare. By the year 1993, it is believed that roughly 150 Cesky Terriers were available in the USA.
